Iron Throne Room project

These images were greatly inspired by the Song of Ice and Fire Books by George R. R. Martin and the HBO show Game of Thrones but have nothing official to do with either. This is just fan art.

After seeing a bunch of sketches and drawings of the Iron Throne as described by Mr. Martin in his books, "...a monstrous uncomfortable chair...," I wanted to build a version of it in 3D. What came out of that was a slight cross between the HBO throne and some of the concepts seen online. There are sort of 3 sections to the throne with 7 steps leading up to the chair and over 2000 separate sword meshes placed on top of a general 'melted swords' shape. After I built the Throne I tried to create the throne room around it for a backdrop, again using images form the HBO show and descriptions from the books as inspiration, but mainly trying to get it finished as fast as possible at that point. Proportions of 3 and 7 are used a lot throughout the environment.
